Stuey Benson was a fount of knowledge and full of laughs when we visited Ram Park in Blackall.
From the decommissioned railway ambulance used for over 100years, to the hand operated water pumps, to the old sheep cradle that came from Swan Hill Cattle Co… Stuey has restored it all to working order and had many a yarn to tell as he recalled the history of both the artefacts and the local area.
He erected a monument (also pictured) documenting the history of droving in the Blackall area, of which he himself was a part in years gone by.
Stuey is a bit of a character and his passion and first hand knowledge made the tour fantastic. Definitely worth a stop.
